Program Objective
To provide a variety of Bureau of Land Management financial assistance awards not covered by any other program entry. This program will support mission program efforts for the management, protection, and development of public lands managed by the Bureau of Land Management and continues to advance the Department of the Interior's priorities to address the climate crisis, restore balance on public lands and waters, advance environmental justice, and invest in a clean energy future. Awards are typically supported by funding one-time specific legislation and internal projects and programs. During FY 21 this program covered the Experienced Services Program (ESP), which provides services to the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Offices on projects that support the BLMs mission. ESP participants provide technical assistance and support to BLM in the development and execution of activities that benefit the general public and provide support to BLM employees. The program will provide opportunities to qualified individuals 55 years of age and older, who have specific technical skills and abilities not available or underrepresented at current BLM staffing levels. The ESP participants will not replace or displace current BLM employees.
